Flawless in style, technique and power

"It's not a sprint, it's a marathon" O'Leary

How old were you when you began surfing and how did it come about?

I started surfing when I was about 7 maybe 8 years old. Before that I was a huge fan of the boogie board. I then got over laying down, so I decided to start standing up, and that was that.

My whole family surfs. Mum used to compete professionally as a surfer, and Dad loves surfing and everything about it, but never went on to compete.

So, I used to just tag along on their weekend adventures up and down the coast to find waves... this is where it all began.

How does surfing make you feel? What do you love most about it?

Surfing makes me feel joyful, happy, and super present.

I love how you can just do it whenever you want, all you need is a board and a wetsuit (or board shorts) depending on the season.

The ocean for me is something that is so therapeutic. A great way to enjoy some alone time as well or, be able to enjoy it with your friends and family.

Why do you choose TLS for hardware?

I think the TLS accessories are the best in the business!

Super durable, very grippy, aesthetically pleasing, and they have such a diverse range of accessories that can suit anyone.

What are your go to TLS products?

My chosen products are the 'Drifter' pad, the leashes are so comfortable and super durable, and the TLS (Tools) ponchos... they're the best to jump in straight after a surf.

What advice would you offer any young surfer looking to take their surfing to a competitive level?

Advice to kids is...

No matter how you’re doing, always try and find ways to improve on your surfing bit by bit. It’s not a sprint it’s a marathon.

Getting video's of yourself surfing. Whether it’s your Mum or Dad standing on the beach with a handy cam, I think it's a huge way to develop your surfing and something I utilized a lot when I was a kid as well.

And most of all you’ve got to be having fun because why do it if you’re not!

Cheers Guys!
